Must say that I am impressed with this little car. So much so that I've made a little post about it. It's so quiet when you're driving that you can whisper to other passengers. It's a 1.6 turbo Diesel automatic and is pretty torque-y. Obviously you don't get thrown into the back of the chair but you definitely feel it when you ease on the throttle. Actually, if you reach the kick-down point, the tranny changes down and you lose some pulling power - like the Surf does. We filled it up last week, have done over 100 miles so far and still got 3/4 of a tank and engine only done <500 miles. I think we might expect better power / economy after a few thousand miles but I really don't know. Also has the Audi-style LED running lights which make it appear to be a more expensive car than it really is. Inside has got the Bluetooth stereo so you can stream music or make phone calls, and is comfy to drive too. Nothing really special but it has definitely impressed me.
The trip computer states "459 miles" to the tank and cost around £60 to fill... Can't compare that to the Surf
We'll see how many we get in the real world, though.
