    I wouldn't be surprised if line pressure to the cooler is less than actual line pressures inside the valve body or converter, so wouldn't worry to much.

      300psi inside the transmission maybe to apply the necessary pressure to the clutch bands etc.
      It's then regulated down to around 80psi to supply the torque converter, and around 40psi to the cooler lines.

            two big problems is dirt/stones damaging cooler and being cooled by the hot air coming off the engine/radiator.
            there is long type coolers which fit down the chassi rails. outside side of the rail tends to get cooler air from the tires. however to make a tough cooler the cooling ability is poor. seen them on hot rods.

              The cooler line pressure is between 7 and 14 psi.

                If that's correct, its in line with my expectations that it would be the same as cooling system pressure.
