Don't like it much, just looks odd, like a Chinese copy of a 3rd Gen, all kinda familar, but not quiet right.

The only LR I'd ever consider would be a 2 door classic Rangy, but only as they look nice and have a fun engine, but you'd still have to force it on me...

Nowt wrong with that, that a gallon of four star and a match wouldn't put right.

What is it with car manufacturers and their fetish for plastic on plastic.

Brown I suppose. Goes well with mud anyway.

I got my Surf to replace my 3rd Series 3 Landrover (that one had a Perkins n/a 3.3L diesel as used in MF tractors, top speed ~55mph in top with overdrive), I wanted a SWB but the space in the Paj's was too small, came down to a Surf and a Landcruiser. The Surf won as it had a towbar and looked pretty clean underneath (I had been told "those Jap cars rot like nothing else" by the landy crowd)

                      true story that....

Still got bits of the Landy, it once pulled the surf+trailer out of a muddy hole while only running at idle. I eventually sold the engine to a boy rebuilding a lorry...

I sold my 4Runner recently. It had been a great motor, taken me everywhere I needed to go with little cost, but it was getting ragged. High mileage but never used oil nor water.

Maybe I looked to buy at the wrong time, but Surfs were so expensive, so I looked at Land cruisers, jesus, they hold their value even more. So I ended up with a Y61 Patrol. The Toyotas are better in certain departments, the Nissan in others. I guess time will tell, but it seems ok so far.

Biggest bugbear for me was the seating position, I just found the Hilux uncomfortable to drive for weeks at a time up on the Scottish Islands. The patrol is so much easier and comfier. Now if I could get the Toyota 3 litre in there, I would be a happy chap.
