If you and Albanach actually read my post properly, you'd see that I stated it was not the USUAL PLEASANT EXPERIENCE, but then I can't expect you to read as well can I?

I'd like to thank the other, more helpful members of the community for their support and like I said, I wasn't expecting any solution, I was merely sharing my experience with others before I get on and do a proper job of repainting the rad, involving rubbing down the badly applied paint and REPAINTING it, not just a quick bodge job.

Just wondering if these Rads could be from the Same Batch &/or Supplier that Milners had problems with a year or two ago ....

The obvious solution is to send it back and take your business elsewhere. It doesn't have to be a drama.

I was always told not to mock the afflicted, but you really are a special case aren't you, for someone who labels themselves a 'professor'!

Now fcuk off, you're boring me!

But that's not what the OP wants to hear.

                    Sorry guys,
                    Sorry Roughtrax,
It was the "Milners" radiator that was no good.
They ended up buying from here
                    The manual radiator £250
                    The auto radiator £195

So here is hoping your RT one will be ok, but you can compare.

Just bought a new radiator as mine decided to split and went, as usual, to Roughtrax.
Ordered the non-genuine replacement listed as the "best aftermarket radiator we have seen to date", which WAS listed with new type plastic top and bottom tanks, as Toyota fit to the later models.

Just recieved my new rad, and have to say, not all that impressed....
Top and bottom tanks made from copper (like the old one), and some bright spark has decided to shrink wrap it while the paint is still wet, making the paint come off as you unwrap it!

Now I've just spoken to them there and been told that there's nothing they can do about it.......They have removed the part about the plastic tanks from their website now, but say that all their current stock has the same problem with the shrink wrapping.
Unperturbed, I asked if I could have some kind of discount, as I'm now going to have to spend my time repainting it, and was told they CAN'T offer any discount as they only have another five and they are in high demand. However, I can always return it for a replacement......which he just told me will have the same problem, only slightly less so!

I think it's more a case of WON'T than CAN'T as they know they'll sell them.

I'm not expecting any kind of solution from this, just thought I'd share this experience with you all......just in case any of you have just ordered a new rad!!
Of course it is up to you, but I think you are entitled to expect a solution. You have the right to return the item under the Distance Selling Regulations, as you probably already know. Whether or not you have to pay return postage will depend on the seller's terms and conditions and if you do, that might outweigh the benefits of getting the remainder of your money back. If these are the only people who sell what you need, then it's tricky, but if they only have a few left and they are in big demand, maybe the next batch won't have the paint issues ?

                          Exaclty!
This isn't, or wasn't a DRAMA. It was merely a review of an experience I had.

                          .........NOT!!
