  • Pics of colour coded Surfs

    Evening folks,

One day, if I ever manage to sell my two cars, I'll be the owner of a Surf, probably a 3rd gen, I also own a Mk1 GTI cabriolet, so it would help with my hairdresser car fetish

Anyway, I'd probably be looking at joining the shiny club, I think a 3rd gen with colour coded bumpers and wheel arches looks great!

Do you guys have any pics of any please? Reason I ask is, I'm not just looking to dream/drool/etc, I'm 90% certain I would like a black Surf, but if possible I'd like to see how some of the other colours look when colour coded.

My 2nd choice is the 'gunmetal' grey 3rd gen, never seen one of these colour coded, 3rd choice is the fairly common dark blue, again not seen one colour coded.

Here's a couple I've stolen off the net to show what I'm talking about...

Light grey, comes like this as standard I believe

    Burgundy...

    Thanks guys

    Rog

I really like that look also, although I think quite a few of the members here prefer their Surfs with a body lift and a good helping of mud thrown in. I think the colour in the first pic is Pearl metalic - that's the one I'm looking for. Good job we are at opposite ends of the country, so probably won't be both chasing after the same truck !

The "Champagne Silver" seem come up fairly often, so hopefully you'll find one soon, black on the other hand, which is my first choice, seem almost rare, and when they do turn up, are silly to ridiculous money...

In my search I did come across pics of a guy who'd colour coded his black Gen 2 and at first I didn't realise it was a Gen 2, so that's probably a more likely outcome for me, plus they come up more often, at reasonable prices, and the gen 2 is what I consider a close cousin of the Pickup TopGear attempted to kill, plus I've owned 2 of the Pickups in the past

      Silly money £5000

      Ridiculous £7200!!! WTF?!?

      Thanks

I think colour coded looks really good and I go through phases of wanting to paint the trim of my dark green 3rd gen to match. It's that or I would paint the bumpers and wheel arches a darker "gun-metalish" grey.

Well I've managed to sell one of my cars this evening, just one to go, and I've got someone coming down from Cambridge tomorrow to see that, so I might officially be able to start my search for a Black 3rd gen Surf

                        £9K!!!

I reckon that "lesser petrol model" you have there has a fuel leak and you've been sniffing the fumes :P

Especially when you consider "BEST LOOKING SURF ON EARTH (FULL BLACK)" at a mere £7200...

In all seriousness though BushWhacker, what roughly do you think yours is worth, assuming it is a relatively standard, albeit very clean, Surf? I'm not looking to buy yours, just looking for an honest ballpark figure, I know there's this whole "Its worth what someone's willing to pay" lark, but I'd love as new as I can find black 3rd gen, maybe even an intercooler, impression I got was £5000 max should get me an intercooler, so £3-4000 should get me a really tidy non-intercooler, or am I way off, I'm only basing this on what I've seen advertised these last 6 months or so, advertised price is one thing, what someone has paid is another.

Anyone else got any input on what they've paid for a tidy 3rd gen this year please?

Reading the ad, you could show them a pic of say Bushwhackers or Karmasupras 3rd gen and get that one for free??

I don't know to be honest, but if you buy this....
                            http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Lan...13%26rk%3D1%26

I'll happily swap mine for it.

Tics a bunch of boxes, Black, leather, shiny, monster engine, but I personally think they're a bit odd looking, they look fat, if you know what I mean?

Anyway, I think both that and yours are a bit out of my price range unfortunately...

No luck selling my GTI this weekend either, so that's pi$$ed me off a bit, so looking forward to knowing I can actually consider buying a Surf rather than all this ###### window shopping...
