Sunday i did 192 miles all motorway and bit of town on 25-30 litres of diesel, was dead chuffed as i was expecting to refill at some point.

is this consumption normal? because it doesn't reflect my day to day driving

29 to the gallon, I've only ever come near that on a long run doing 60mph.

Well to my calculations it works out about 32mpg which I think is pretty good I went from full to the brim to 1/2 way mark

Did you top up the tank to see how much fuel you really used. Gauges mean nothing.

6.6 into 192 = 29.09

That's how I done it.

Yea I filled it up so I know I had 50 litres, and I thought a gallon was 5 litres so not sure now lol

What Nev is saying is:

1. Fill it to the brim.

2. Drive for a couple of hundred miles. (using a sat nav because your odometer may be out)

3. Fill it to the brim again to see exactly how much fuel you've used.



Is your odometer in miles? On a lot of Surfs it's in Km's.

Is the OP aware thet the odemetre(spelling?) probably counts in KM's

Nothing between them.Manual is slightly better around town,Auto with overdrive is better on motorways.

Spoil Sport, why do I need to count at 4.55ltr per gallon? My truck does great mpg if I count it at 6ltr per gallon. Even better when I include looking at the gauge and guessing how much I have used.

Its in Km but i converted the calculation into miles as it was showing over 300km for that day
