  • rushed one of my dogs to the vets

had to rush my dog to the vets as my irish setter sophie started wretching, and within 30 mins her stomach was bloated. I feared torsion of the stomach. Got her to the vets in 5 mins, and within another 5 mins she was undergoing surgery....After 2 hours of emergency surgery she appears stable for now....Hope she is ok. I will probably not sleep a wink tonight

Get well soon Sophie. Bloat is really nasty and slim deep chested dogs (like setters) are more prone to it than the stockier breeds. Hope she recovers quickly so you can rest easier.

My Bullmastiff had bloat a few years ago, it was touch and go. You got to the vets in time it sounds like, hopefully will make a full recovery. Dog Feed with lots of kibble in it can cause it as it give off a lot of gas. I always read the ingredients now of any dog food/treats I buy.

Good luck, im sure he'll be fine now.

Hey shirl, hope she's better soon.

Is Sophie the mad one or the madder one, I just called them Shirley 1 & 2 because they both seemed as mad as you.

                    Chin up.
If its not broke don't fix it.
