I think the problem is the lack of NCB. I'm thinking about cancelling the insurance on the Green truck and using the 9+ years from that to insure the Blue one. See how I get on with 2 years NCB and a standard(ish) truck.

Or, ask Flux if they do a multi-car policy.

£500 from flux seems like a bargain for a heavily modified truck.

I paid them £420 for my 2.4 in January. They do seem to be ramping up prices heavily recently. 3 years ago I paid £280..

Changing my 'L' reg 1.7D astravan to a 'R' reg 1.7TD astravan just cost me an extra £92 with them too...

Yeah, it's looking that way. It's just nowhere near what Graham was paying.

I'm going to call them to see if they do a multi-car policy.

The first time I insured with Flux they claimed that they would 'mirror' any NCB from my other policy for my Laguna. Whether they did or not's a contentious issue, still cost me £700 for the first year. Lots of searching the year after only got it down to £500 so I don't think what you've been quoted is too bad.
Perhaps I live in an insurance black spot and I do only have street parking but some of the low prices some people quote on here really set me wondering. I'm very old and have 9yrs+ NCB.

                                Andy,

I got a renewal with Chaucer through Sky for £322 FC, 5 years NCB, age 33, 12,000 miles, parked on private land overnight. Listed as having Powerflow exhaust, free flow filter, non standard shocks & springs and some stereo stuff as modifications. Can't remember what the excesses were but I was surprised at how low they were.
Until this year I have always had the best price from Thatcham A Plan, may be worth a try if you have not already. They seemed to be trying it on this year and I couldn't be bothered with the phone calls back & forth to get £5 off their ridiculous renewal quote then another call to get another £5 off, so moved on.
There seemed to be quite a reduction for low mileage limits, have you tried reducing that?

                                Mines a 96 KZN185

                                Cheers

                                Ben
