I dont know about anyone else, but keep seeing this sort of spam p155es me off. It seems to be happening almost daily. There must be hundreds of new member listings along the lines of:

    About Wipoajng.

    Location India

    Name Wipoajng

I don't for one moment beleive that this is a real person. A real new member from India would be most welcome. Is there no way that this kind of spamming could be stopped, perhaps by making it mandatory to include more detailed personal information, to register as a forum member?.......Rant over.

I run a very small wildlife photography forum where I activate each and every account. Until it is activated, they can`t post anything.

It does get a bit tedious deleting all the obvious Russian,American and Chinese spammers, but it seem to work ok.

The thing is, Ade, that these " new members " don't go on to post anything anyway. What I was proposing was implementing a way of stopping them from even registering in the first place.
