Newbie advice.

Hi all i'm a newbie here, getting my 93 surf in about a week so have been trawling this site for other peoples woe's lol. Noticed a few peoples surfs failing MOT's on smoke test so thought would give out some advice after gaining some.
I'm a truck mechanic so deal with a lot of diesels for MOT and i have found a cheap and easy way of helping it through is to remove the air filter just before test. I know sounds bad but has worked often for me. but remember to put it back to avoid disaster.

What forum have you been reading and what is a smoke test?




If there any out there who have actually had an emissions {which is my best guess at smoke test} test issue you need to stick veg oil in it.
