If its not broke don't fix it.

I think yes, but when you do use it, only use it in your wife's vehicle.

          Haha.

The fella over the road is doing a fluid change on his car but it uses DOT 3 & I have a full unopened bottle from when I did the surf 2 years ago so I said he could have it but I thought I'd check to see if it was fit for use.

You can use and mix DOT 3 with DOT 4 if the vehicle can accept DOT 3 but don't mix it with DOT 5 as this is silicone based and very different.

Generally recognised the brake fluid in a plastic sealed container has a shelf life of 2 years but if kept in very cold conditions this can decrease.

It's so cheap Si why even bother, brake fluid soaks up water and in plastic containers this can happen. I'd rather just use fresh stuff.

Been kept in a dry garage, so should be ok.

Ye, i wish I hadn't mentioned it to him now cos he is a tight git, he will drive 10 miles out of his way to buy cheaper fuel, the fact that the 10 miles extra in fuel to get 1p off a litre acctually costs him more doesn't seem to compute with his brain.

you could do the opposite to that recent post, suggesting using the air con to cool the engine...
just run the GHD's in the winter months!
