So you're a telecoms engineer - me to although I've been taking a bit of a rest from it and selling Telecoms kit for a few years - once an engineer though always an engineer.

Just ordered a work line a couple of weeks back and their best install date is 21st October!! Considering the millions my firm pays them each year they apparently gave us priority service so I hate to think when a bog standard customer would get an install - probably not this year - what a joke!!

(oh yeah - Colt installed their line in 2 weeks so it cant be that hard can it!)

Don't get a desk job. Everything you learned in the field will be forgotten in about three months- well thats what I have noticed about ex-colleagues who are now managers. It's amazing how one can do things that they wouldn't have done when they were on the tools. :Rant Off:
