  • Happy New Surf Owner

    Hi all,

Finally got my first Surf last Wednesday and I am not disappointed!

Spent 4 hours on Thursday hoovering out the previous owners dog hairs and cleaning the interior or said dog slaver before deciding to let the local petrol stations jet wash do the rest (gained a nice sun tan and lost what felt like 12 pints of sweat in the process) and it looks great.

I had been seriously thinking of getting a Surf for about 2 years and have been cheeking out all the tips, advice and such that all you helpful peeps have written on these pages, which really paid off when I went and viewed a couple.

So thanks folks, the info and friendly community here is great, and I shall definately be subscribing and more than likely needing more help at some stage!

    Mark

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Webbo, didn't get a discount for the dog hair, but he did chuck in a slimline PS2 with built in headrest tv's although I've no idea what use I'll get from that!

Only got one picture, but I'm struggling to figure how to upload. Checked FAQ, went to UserCP but couldn't find the albums thing so I could upload.

Puddlesurfer, as for first mod I'm not sure as there is soooo much to choose from I guess before I do any mod related fun I need to get my central locking and front spots sorted and work up from that.

Nice and shiny next to the River Trent.

I never intending buying a Surf to do off road stuff I just wanted a good 4x4 for bad weather with good storage space but the more I read about the exploits of members here the more I am seriously thinking about it after all, a dirty Surf is a proper Surf

I've read about some of the different meets you do, anything coming up soon that might be suitable for an off-road virgin? Don't forget I've only had the truck 5 days and havn't touched hi/lo yet let alone a clue what really to do with it

Indeed... Click here I'm relatively new to off roading but I believe there is something in Avalanch for everyone and it's for a whole weekend so you'll have a great experience ! You can also just come for 1 day but I insist you make it the weekend (The more the merrier)

                            hi and welcome,
i remember when i got mine. it was just before new years eve and cleaning the previous owner out was rather freezing my ******* off.
mine was in a terrible state, balled tyres, knackered shocks, cracked cylinder head and the rest. well, suppose i only payd £500 for it but i enjoyed every minute doing it up again.
                            have fun with your truck

Yup. A dirty Surf is, or soon will be, a broken Surf.

Welcome on board Mark, enjoy your stay.

p.s. Just don't mention the poor MPG and the 'muddy is best' b****cks and we'll all get along fine.

                              p.p.s. You haven't got a 2.5 by the way.
