Jesus, I'd want it to be solid gold for that price.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Thanks a lot Vince. Was looking good to pick this up for under £50k, and now a flurry of activity from hiluxsurf members has sent it soaring...

So no one else thinks it's a bit disrespectful?

Apparently some were selling them before they had even got their greedy little hands on them!

Apparently the proceeds from that particular one are going to the Invictus Trust, but otherwise yes.

I can afford to buy her shoes but at a size 5 it might be a bit of a squeeze

Shame. It was a photo of the torch. Same picture as in the listing for the torch. Four hundred quid.....

Wish i had half a doz!! in a way it is a bit of a kick for those who sponsored the owner but on the other hand the owner had to cough up 300 snots for it, so dunno!!! i admit i'd flog it for 150K, f##k principals,
if some silly sods willing to pay that for a bit of bent perforated alloy with a ronson lighter stuck in the end then f##k it why not, same for medals, wether war or sports, you win gold and ya want the cash instead then sell it,
loads of my dads mates got their "war" medals on the ship bringing them home and very many Guys were so disgusted they chucked em over the side,
(they forgot my dad!! his arrived in the post six months after VJ day, he gave them to me and i gave them to my son many years later, but if he wanted to sell them i wouldn't stop him,

and answer me this!!! this is a grin and this is a big grin whats the difference?
                        THERE BOTH THE SAME FFS
                        grin:

Yeah, I'm with you, at least have enough respect to let the games finish.

                            How about:

Only food in Olympic Park - McDonalds
Only non-alcoholic drink in Olympic Park - Coke
Price for a ticket to the 100m final - £725
                            IOC Revenue in 2001-2004 - $4bn?

I think it's a long time since the Olympics were about much other than money (the torch bearers even had to buy the torch they carried), so I think it's fine for everyone to join in.

Rediculous prices. The lady on beeb 1 one this morning that was going to give all the money to charity....HER CHARITY....summat to do with gardeners... very lame interview, very lame cover up of a greedy/lucky person.

Would I sell for £153k? Damn right.

                              Doesn't make it right though...
