I am due for insurance soon, and have been looking around different firms, and have found the co,op or CIS insurance, they have quoted me £250 fully comp, which I thought was good. But the quote they gave me was for a 4 runner? are these the same vehicle? I thought the difference was the surf was imported and 4 runner made here!! Identical.

4Runner is the Uk version to the Surf. When getting quotes did you tell them its an Import?

It's not the point. If you get a quote for a 4Runner (which is all that is available on most drop down menus for comparison sites etc), then your quote is for a UK car, not an import. Any big claim and you will find you are not insured, and will be deep in the mire.
You need to specify that it is a Surf. Sureterm Direct have been good for me - usually 250 - 300 mark. Others have wildly different experiences. There is no substitute for putting in the hours on the phone sadly.

              Hi Chaps

I was with sureterm last year and they sent my renewal without the mods and when I questioned it they said that Highway - my insurer could not do my mods anymore... very naughty! They actually can't offer me a quote due to the fact I have a total of 4" lift!

So, I am currently looking again... have contacted the above, thanks BW and will try A plan and AF I think... please let me know if anybody knows any other good ones! I am also on a limited mileage of 3k at the mo!
              Cheers

I appreciated this is an old thread, but I was going to give The Insurance factory a call until I read their reviews on-line!
