  • how rare or not

Just sat here and thinking . I know people say that 2nd gen surfs are rare in manual form but how "rare" are they , or aren't they lol

I own one , who else has a manual.

I have a manual 3.0 4Runner and a manual 89 2 door Surf, but both are being parted out for spares so don't really count!

Have a customers manual 2.4 2nd Gen here ATM.

The first couple of years of the 2nd Gens, 89-90 non EFI trucks are often manual.

3.0's like yours are the harder to find, manual 3rd Gens even more so.

I have a manual 3.0 diesel parked outside.
It won't be a 3.0 diesel for much longer though.

Already seen it mate, think my mileage might be a bit excessive and Bristol's a bit far.

Otherwise I might have bitten his hand off.

Mine's a 2.4 manual. Top beast bless her! Slowly getting round to being fully functioning too. And yes, I do mean the truck & not me!
It's only kinky the first time...

Probably because theres no appreciable difference in MPG,and why would you want to pump a clutch up and down? The pace of the auto on the motor way is far far far superior to the manual. The overdrive knocks the revs down about 800 rpm and gives a much mure relaxed ride.

                      Regards

Put me down as another 3.0 litre manual driver.

Looked all ower for Daisy when i decided I was buying a Surf ended up driving a 370 mile round trip to pick her up and drive her back here.

She is the first 4WD I've ever owned and she's done everything I've ever wanted, carried tonnes of wood and materials for my work, towed everything from my trailer to a single decker bus and never struggled to do anything.

                          Best truck in the world.
If you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

'Cause the gear change is a little agricultural, I soil myself anytime any one mentions dual mass flywheels and I've recently been driving an automatic which I was surprisingly smitten with.
Always believed the old grumblings about MPG, poor performance and 'what if it goes wrong?'
                            I've seen the light.
