Air conditioning

The air con was working but i thought I'd get it re charged.
I took it to Kiwk Fit, the guys put it on the machine sucked out the old mixture and then the machine aborted..so now I have no aircon. They said the machine did not like the system a possibe leak...but it was working before. Now if i momentarly switch it on it makes a strange noise....
