  • 3.0 Cylinder Head Replacement

Well after a few months (Wrong side of the year) off the road, I have finally taken the plundge and my Truck has just left on the back of an RAC truck to have its RoughTrax head fitted.

Hi has a heavy workload so he has said it should be ready for Tuesday just in time for Easter :-).

    From bad to worse

Well it goes from bad to worse and I could do with some help now.

The mechanic has removed the head and has Found Pitting on the Deck of the block, now after speaking to Tony last night I am going to see how bad it is and decide / find out if anything can be done.

One thing I did not ask Tony last night was!

Are the Bore Liners fixed in place or can they be replaces insitue?

I am going to get the head tested to see if i can put mine back on, and try to save money that way.

So all in all I think i should have saved an extra £1000 and got vince to put a V8 in.

        ohh my word

Not actually said anything after this post!!!

Well its up and running and its not losing a drop of water :-)

Done a few thousand miles on it at the moment and althoug it still feels a little underpowered when trying to accelerate i still love it to bits and it seems to be getting better all the time, god its got some grunt!

Been using my Mototcycle so driving the truck is chill out time.

I have to thank Tony for his help and guidance on the and let hope she lives for another 120,000 miles before anything major happens again.

Also the mechanic that did the work Abdul is a gem and if you are in Leicester and need a mechanic i can only prase him to the max, helpfull considerate and above all imho very good.

        Thanks
        Darren
