Nope, it's got nowt to do with time. It's the order of occurance on their mental "to do" list

"Manana" on the other hand IS more time specific, but the event never actually occurs.

First thing in the morning for me is determined by my little girl, if she decides it`s time to be awake then there is no negotiating with her!

On rare occasions however first thing in the morning can run into early afternoon, but only if I have been good

Working in an office, first thing in the morning is as soon as it's conveniently possible. Usually after tea and having got set up. So somewhere between 9am and 11 or 12. Depends what time the day starts

I always took it to mean the first job of the working day.

Usually consider it to be first important task of the day. If a task isn't that important it will be done on Wednesday, however which Wednesday this will be is never disclosed lol.

Depends on the context - if it's work related it's the first job of the day, usually around 06:30-07:00

If it's at home then it's when I wake up and have got myself sorted out
