After many years of hassle free motoring the torque converter on my surf has started making some bad noises.
I'm wondering if this is the start of a mechanical chain reaction.
If I replace the torque converted I have a gut feeling that the gearbox will just break next, then I'll fix that only to find the diff goes wrong.
Am I being paranoid, or is there some truth in my negativity.
It's a 16 year old car, it's got over 150k on the clock.
I think it might have just about reached that point where it's not hassle free motoring anymore.
What do you think?
Is the car at that sort of age/mileage where it's going to need constant repair and maintenance?
Or is it only just run-in, and has plenty of miles left on it once I change the noisy part?
