I have a mate in the Pershaw area that has a reasonable area of shoot, with some deer control involved, hence .243.
It remains to be seen how I stomach the gralloching though - bunny & chicken is one thing, knee deep in deer internals may be another. If I want venison in the freezer I'd better get used to it.

Good choice, it's not a bad caliber to reload for as well (if your into reloading that is), as for the stomach thing, it's not that bad. For me, venison has to be one of the best meats out there.

O dear what did I start ? This post says it all Si. I shoot Rabbits on a huge fruit growers Farm, who sells Strawberries, Blackberries and all the other berries you can think of to all the major Supermarkets, so I could be doing you all a favour. Symax tablets down burrows lead to a horrible death, a clean well taken shot from a .22 sub or an hmr17 is instant. Yes I have had kills with .22 sub, 100 yards plus, we measure via the posts which hold the fruit wires up 10 meters apart. hmr17 different story, just cant sell the Rabbits on though. Some of you may like to know we sell most of our Rabitts to a Game dealer Guts in, who freezers them, and then imports them to France, they then go into some sort of cosmetics. So when Wifey putting on blusher tonight you may want to remind her. Others I will clean and Butcher and give to the Pensioners in my village.

Off topic slightly but when i watch the news & you see these people in other countries firing guns in the air in celebration or anger i always think to myself that the bullet has to come down at some point & when there are 3 or 4 hundred rounds being fired i can't help but think that someone is going to be unlucky & get one in the head when they land.
