Having a windscreen is not an MOT requirement either, but if I had one and it got broke in an incident I,d expect my insurers to pay for a new one. ( after deducting the excess of course)

I have a feeling that this thread is going to go downhill, but Id just like to say that if I was carrying bricks it probably would be because I was going to build a wall.

If the odd size spare wasn't on the car it has nothing to do with the claim. Who says it was even for that car, and being taken somewhere or collected for a friend.

If he has non standard wheels and not told them then thats different, and his own fault really.

i always referenced a set is 5 wheels, for cars i had and my surf (actually got 6, 2 spares)
would they do me for that?

As for the four 16" and 15" spare, I'd say his problem was not informing his insurer he had fitted non standard wheel.
he bought the 4x4 like that.
