Maybe the vehicle next to him was going slightly faster and they got the summons.

The cameras don't use film any more, they're digital. Most of them are infra red too so they don't need to flash either.

Its an old Gatso camera, I googled it and they said they still use film but are slowly being replaced with digital. He's a lucky sod - touch wood

Fingers crossed. It's quite a rolling bend but IMO definately not warranted to be 50mph, same as a lot of other 50mph motorway cameras just there for revenue rather than safety.

Show the V5 as evidence, no court will believe a 2.4 was doing that sort of speed.
