My stupid husband got flashed by a speed camera on the m4 eastbound port talbot yesterday. Doing 75 in a 50....His excuse ' I didnt think the camera worked cos i've passed it before doing 60.
    Grrrr in my Hilux too.................

What points/fine do you think he will get (its was 430am and the road was empty, if that makes a difference)

So hopefully the speedo on the surf overestimated his speed by a few mph...He'll be bricking it for 2 weeks now

        Wow 75mph in a 2.4!

A summons for £60 will be in the mail and he'll receive three penalty points.

...I'd speed past Port Talbot if I could as well!

Yea we should all be able to drive as fast as we want and how about a MINIMUM 50mph limit past all schools, that would be great!
              All the best

very subjective, depends on the local forces policy. Some can and do from time to time operate a zero policy and come down heavy. Will also take in to account road, schools, etc etc take nothing for granted................

It's a stupid place for a 50 zone. it's a large sweeping bend and can easily be driven at normal motorway speeds. (imo)

Is say he's looking at 6 points and 100+ fine going by other peoples experiences.
A mate got stopped speeding and was told that the general rule is 3points and 60 fine for each 10mph over the speed limit , unless other cicumstances are taken into consideration like schools etc near by , in which case the fine will be worse

Nope, the section of the M4 where the 50mph zone is, is a raised section of motorway with no hard shoulders but a few on/off ramps.
A £60 fine and three points is all he'll receive.

I hope so, I tested the speedo today against my sat nav and the hilux is reading 2mph over what the sat nav says. So hopefully he's was just under 75
