Yep, that why #i rarely use the back brake, by I've only got a stuffed up ligament...

I've ate, shit, slept and breathed bikes since i was 10yrs old! I have had a bike since i was sixteen and have never been without one in various levels of customising or overhaul since then. For the past two years i haven't had one or worse still had the urge to ride another bike! So i'm just trying to figure out what i'm going to do? I like the idea of a british bike as i have liked the sound and character since i was old enough to know the difference, i'd love to be able to get a Vincent Rapide or Black shadow but they are way out of my touch. I did try to sit on a Honda Super blackbird but, i couldn't get my left knee to bend enough for the footrest (apart from the weight of the thing on dodgy legs) Also the butt in the air riding position crippled my back, As the british bikes seating position is less hunched over i should be able to get my knee to bend enough to be comfortable, (british bike and comfort in the same sentence, I think not!)
Anyhow i'll see what appertains in the near future.

I'm much the same attitude Tony, (just stubborn or set in ways maybe) in the early years the NABD were not funded but was repeatedly requested to apply for a grant towards "Reverse Gears" which I declined... (maybe one day I have to give in to requests) for now as ya say "somebody's needs are more pressing" n I'll work with what I've got or modify it myself if poss !!
I doesn't cost to ask mate so ask away I'm sure they'll help all they can, one of their rallies is a real eye opener ....
        Good Luck

          Hi Tony
The Bike is a 1961 Triumph 5TA Twinspeed bathtub. He will sort out a price for tomorrow. It is in bits but was running when his late father in law took it apart. If you are interested, let me know.

                    Hi Tony
The chap at work has come back with a price. His brother in law is asking £1,000 for it, (it was his late fathers). I think they may be open to offers as they will be moving in the next couple of weeks and will have to move the bike. It is currently near Bagshot surrey (J3 M3) The chap at work (son in law) said it was all there and there are manuals also.
If you are inerested I will get you a contact number via my email.
                    Dave

If you do get an old brit bike, and need help getting it fixed or registered, gimme a shout. My Sister is something of an expert, and can get copies of manuals, and speaks the same kind of bull as Swansea.... Which is nice.
