I'v had experience of this Tony, out filming for a entertainment show in Manchester city centre, full permission to film a old building as a set, actors ok etc cameras on a public park pointed towards an old building- the set.

Security staff from a shopping centre (directly behind the cameras) came out and started physically pushing our staff around, we politely told them we were not interested in their shopping centre nor would we film it.
But we met with the same standing in front of camera bullying attitude.
I told all crews to film the incident and threatened to call police. only then did they back off... considering the time and money wasted by wanna be cops.

This actually makes me a wee tad annoyed.

It's the usual, "enforcement does wrong". At the end of the day we only saw his video. Now what people don't understand with the Internet and Media is that stuff can be altered to swing a case one way or another. The video clearly is cut at sections therefore how do we know what's gone on inbetween.

I agree with both sides of the pathetic argument however. Security firms often come across to me to lack the training to deal with these situations. However the start of the filming in this instance commences on a confrontation. Just watch the start. The guy filming already knows what he's intending to do.

The bottom line is neither of them know the Law. However a common respect should be shown toward eachother. This sort of respect is widely not shown around the country to both The enforcers of the law and the upholders of the law. They were just doing their jobs, albeit wrong but still no doubt taking orders from above them.

Apologies for the wee rant, but it's utterly ridiculous how people jump to conclusions without any conclusive evidence!

Maybe the cameraman did set out to deliberately provoke, but hes probably felt driven there by the ever increasing number of jobsworths in this world. A nation full of people of all ages desperate to tell you what you can and cant do and where you can and cant do it. Nothing is forbidden nowadays, thats not good enough, now its all strictly forbidden, whatever difference that makes. Nobody can answer simple questions these days, because the data protection act apparently tells them they cant. Its everywhere, Its all , you cant do this, you cant do that, and although there are obvious reasons for some of the things you cant do, theres no real reason at all for plenty of others, other than some git wanting to be bossy.
