As has been said, there is about 5mm of sideways movement between the 2 parts. It can rattle when not loaded, but its not excessive.
A rubber washer or 2 would sort it, if you were particularly bothered.
I've given this hitch a proper workout with a big trailer loaded with "plenty" of sand and packs of bricks. Needless to say, the hitch is still working fine.
Remember to mount it with the little part on the vehicle so it doesn't create a plough when off roading.
