Hitch
Hi hitch available from Towsure, they have a number of stores in the country and you can order one on line.
Should really use a four bolt towbar, not sure of legal requirements but you could end up putting a high twist torque on your tow bar. Don't forget the hitch will also add an amount of movement as the 19mm pins will move.

But apparently it fell on deaf ears and we ended up discussing how many lug nuts an Australian Vauxhall has..

Hitch ordered. The trailer distributor said the tow ball should ideally be 16.5" high. Mine's about 24", so need to drop it about 7.5"...

Don't take the 16.5" as gospel - it'll depend on the trailer, the load and the sag on the Surf. Set it so that it's slightly nose down empty and loaded - if it's nose up it'll try to take off at speed ... Obviously it won't succeed but the handling will be 'interesting' !
Life is too important to take seriously !
