    Just out of interest..

last nights the news was buzzing here about a bomb going off ..

Today it was revealed it was a HGV tyre bursting.. now ridiculous it may seem but windows were broken in the incident..and locals said it felt like a bomb with the building shaking - office workers claimed things moved and they shook as the incident occurred..
Just wondering what that would be like driving beside it on a motorway if a tyre went

I've been in the 3rd lane of a motorway and a lorry's tyre has blown out in 1st lane. I could feel the explosion through my chest and it was quite a bang.

The lorry driver pulled into the hard shoulder, didn't actually stop, I think he probably thought he could carry on with his journey and pulled back onto the motorway and carried on !!!

Now I would have thought that an explosion that big so near another tyre could have seriously damaged it so would have assumed it best to stop, check remaining tyre is not damaged then put a new tyre on the wheel that has no tyre on but he seemed to think otherwise

Holy Sh*t, is that what that was about? Heard it on the news shortly after it happened. I thought that's a 'nice' start to the year! No harm done then

A truck tyre must be loud. I was driving an empty Merc Sprinter some years ago, when a rear tyre blew. The noise inside the van was deafening!..............

Ive had a few truck tyre blowouts, including a front tyre on a long sweeping corner into Calais docks, left a few stains where they shouldn't be, if you think most truck tyres run at about 120psi, then thats a hell of a bang.

Got some pics on my phone of a blow out i had last year while carrying a Volvo EC140 14 tonne excavator while doing 56mph on the M4 on way to bristol. That was a challenge trying to get from middle lane to hard shoulder without wiping out the truck I was overtaking AND the pr1ck who undertook me in a BMW (surprise surprise) AFTER the blowout had occured.
i swear, it was like that when i got here...
