Had the steering recall done last a couple of months ago and received a letter a week later Re; Cylinder head gasket recall. Having replaced the head earlier in the year I took no notice. Arrived home yesterday and found a scruffy torn bit of paper urging me to contact the dealer about the gasket recall. I phoned them up and was told that the recall was a check to see if the gasket was faulty. When I mentioned that I had replaced the head he lost interest, when I mentioned that any head fault on this model/age of Surf would more likely be down to a cracked head due to a design fault he got a bit sheepish. I asked weather the recall would cover the cost of a new head and it seems it's only the gasket, any other parts would not be covered.
