  • Small Parts & Roof Bars

I have two parts missing from my 3rd gen surf which are mildly annoying every time I look.

One is the fuse box cover by the drivers right knee – I think a lot of people have this missing – I have just found out though, that you can buy it from a Toyota dealership for £10.
It's a lot of money for a bit of plastic, but I'm willing to pay it to fill in the annoying hole in the dash.

The other part is the black rubber moulding that sits around the aerial on the front wing. Mine disappeared on a motorway in France, and although I have fixed the aerial, I never managed to find the moulding.
I know a few people have replaced the whole aerial, so if anyone has a spare moulding I'll happily offer them some seasonal goodwill, alcohol or money for it.

I've also just picked up some roof bars from RoughTrax.
    They look splendid.
Roughtrax take some basic thule kits and replace a few parts to they fit the 3rd gen.
I did a search on here and found the box numbers and parts to swap, and did some googling for prices – and I'd say that the Roughtrax ones are very reasonably priced for what you get – and it's incredibly straightforward as all the sourcing of extra parts is done for you.
Especially as you get a full set of keys for them too.

I'm planning to get the Karrite Odyssey 350 roof box to attach to them.
Has anyone used this box on a surf?
Did it work well? Fall off? Rattle in a disturbing way?

    Thanks, and Merry Christmas.

I think mine's a Karrite 350 - no probs fitting it to Thule bars and the only issue with it in use is that the foam sealing strip on the inside needs to be refitted every time I use it (Which isn't that often anyway !)

Life is too important to take seriously !

Can you really? I've been looking for one of them for ages. My local toyota dealership have never really been that helpful with stuff like that.

Not sure how far you are from Coxon Henley but they are usually helpful with my odd import "will one of these fit this" parts queries.
        More Lift.
        More Tyres.
        More Engine.

Ah, nice one. They're barely any further than the Reading one. Might have to pay them a visit.
