I came across this police recruitment video which may be of interest to some especially the outdoor scenes in the bush. No Toyotas in the country at that time due to trade sanctions by Britain! Older members should remember the blockade and the Beira patrol
It was filmed in the late sixties about the time I was a serving officer in the British South Africa Police in Rhodesia.
You could be called on to perform any of the duties shown at any time and there were many opportunities. The water scenes of the boat are of Lake Kariba whicha s over 50 miles wide at some points
It is about 20 minutes long and worth watching right through. Also makes you wonder how many modern day policeman would be able to cope with the basic training never mind the job itself once you finished training after 6 months. The words "stress" and "consultations" was not in our vocabulary.
