i am acquiring a 1994 surf this saturday and thought i would sign up and look about.....

all i seem to see is horror storys :-/

i no there old girls now but are they really as bad as they seem?

to your first part, the only time most people post is when something goes wrong, if it be the Surf thier TV or some bad experience with a shop etc etc

and to your secnd part no they are not
go look on any other forum, the longest threads tend to be when something goes wrong, human nature to whinge for months when something goes wrong
and only give it fleeting mention, if that, when it does not.

Mines been great, couple of age related problems etc but nothing major, I love my car, cv's are starting to click and bronze bushes could do with being changed, slight leak from water pump gasket. But still pulls like a train with. No real smoke oh and I'm missing half an exhaust as it got pulled of in so real thick deep mud. But it's so much fun off road and fairly comfy on road for the money I wouldn't have anything else, if I won the lottery I'd buy a new hilux.

Just depends on previous keepers (as with any secondhand motor) yes ya maybe unlucky, but once sorted n maintained regularly they won't let ya down..
