HI, SPECIALIST - LEISURE based in Warrington Cheshire supplied and fitted mine a Trailmaster system complete kit 4 inch suspension lift for approx £1500.00 but mine was the first that he had fitted to a Toyota Surf and because of the time and work involved they may charge more now !!!

I'm not sure were your getting 3600 from according to thier webb site

      4" Suspension lift
      £810 parts + £475 fitt = £1285 + VAT (17.5%) = £1510
      3" Body lift
      £265 parts + £325 fitt = £590 + VAT (17.5%) = £694
      Total £2204

I'm sure that if you are going to fit both at the same time you should get a better price for the fitting.

Looking at both sites I would choose the supertrux as the system on the specialist-leisure on appears to be only a block lift style of lift. If choosing the supertrux one I would get the shocks uprated to the ES9000's

        Hi,
Whats a "block lift" type of suspension ? The Trailmaster system includes 4 x Shocks Trailmasters own adjustable, veriable progession type.

This page at Specialist-Leisure seems to be for the leaf-spring type of rear suspension which uses block lifts under the rear springs.
They don't seem to include the coil spring rear - apologies I got mixed up, as the only one listed, I didn't look at it with as much care as I should have

Any suspension lift will require new shocks (actually dampers - the springs are the shock absobers) as original ones will not have the necessary travel and will stop the axel droping to its full distance.

UKWolf - you're right about the dampers. Springs absorb the shocks (isolate the vehicle from road/surface inconsistencies), "shocks" (dampers) control how fast the springs compress & rebound. With just springs and no dampers, vehicles would pogo all around the place. Maybe that would be fun?

But your signature is twoddle - the difference between the men and the boys is the amount of dirt on their toys, not the price of them... Maybe you're being tongue in cheek, but a recent post about Top Gear's 4WD round up showed one of the most expensive toys getting stuck! On simple ground! I'm a man (with my hairy back, permanent stubble, deep voice and cheap 1990 Surf...), and I ain't got no money!

              supertrux lift v specialist leisure

right four inch lift kit supertrux =£810 +vat
four inch lift kit specialist leisure =£1200 + vat
3 inch body lift supertrux £225
specialist leisure 3 inch body lift £250

thanks for the specialist leisure link
now if anyone is interested in the 4 inch lift kit read on

the specialist leisure lift kit does seem alot more comprehensive including every bracket under the sun BUT uses trailmaster shocks i dont know how these are in comparison to the procomp or hijacker variety but the guy from specialist says he uses procomp himself but would go for trailmaster in the future i havent got a clue myself as i dont have any eveidence to prove this.
super trux use es9000 pro comp for the same set up and make monster trucks...but does this kit comprise of these additional brackets used in the specialist leisure to take the strain off universal joints etc see what you guys think.
a considerable price difference for the 4 inch lift kit and would be inclined to go with supertrux however i cant rule either one out i think we need a proper comparison by someone who knows these brackets and shocks
              feed back appreciated

3 inch body lift needs a lot more work than a 2 inch body lift... you'll need to extend a lot of bits and pieces... not sure what on a 2nd gen but i know for sure the fuel filler pipe will need extending, possibly brake lines etc. and the connections to the engine... as the engine drops 3" as the body raises... may also need to fab some sort of rad guard as this will be exposed under the bumper and the bumper will need a bit of modification (rear bumper stays put)

big suspension lift will need longer brake lines and a front diff drop bracket panhard rod and trailling arms modified... not sure how the front lift will work on the 2nd gen... but driver will know as his has been done.
nee nar nee nar, i'm a fire engine!

The mods done on my 3" bodylift were steering column lengthened and front bumper raised fuel filler was ok engine connections still ok and i left rad in place been done about 3-4months now and everything still connected and good.
