  • I feckin' love Scotland

Was best man at a friends wedding in a little town called Huntly around an hour from Aberdeen.

Its been a while since I've been and forgotten how much I love the people and the landscape. Empty, craggy and with lots of rivers works for me.

Some of the food was... interesting and sometimes like stepping back about 20 years. Best spot was:
Chicken Maryland - Chicken with a banana and pineapple fritter with a bacon and sausage garnish.
    Nice

Having said that, the scotch pie is a thing of beauty, hence my bag was stuffed with 6 to bring home with me.

Love the place. Must go back soon...

Sermon over. Been away for a bit and the whole place seems to be full of Surf threads! Shocking behaviour

As being 100% Cornish first and "English" only by statute law I will whisper this,"I found on a recent trip to Scotland that the countryside was awe inspiring, the locals very friendly the food/drink excellent, daylight at 10pm confusing but welcome ,no annoying flies, and no rain"

Would I go back hell yeah

Also, very civilised to have water freely available to add to your single malt.

Played in a band and did loads of scotish gigs, certanly a very hospitable place in general, and have some great memories of some of the characters.
The central bar in Lieth was one of the most amazing bars I've ever been in.
                All the best

A96 must have been clear of tractors and combine harvesters if you did it in an hour.

Just north of Wales, its totally over rated nowdays due to the population of southerners who have invaded it.
If its not broke don't fix it.

Aye, it's not a bad place to be. You southerners shouild pop in to see Shirley and me when you're passing. Shirley makes a mean bacon roll

I take it you've not been to Lanarkshire then.

In fairness, whenever I have driven through Lanarkshire (it seems to be permanently overcast and drizzly) I have always been awestruck by its grimness.
