They are about £70ish to buy over here. I get them from Real Steel.

You could probably save a bit getting them from Summit Racing or similar in the US, but obviously not next day delivery!

Cheers, got the hang of the oil cooler bit now, got any advice on what I need to hook it up?
ETA sorry, that sounded a bit rude. Wasn't meant to be. Just need to know how to connect it up, buy it and forget about todays little "blip"...

                        And in tears..

Long and short is.... Modded rads with the atf bit taken out.... Twin elec fans... ATF coolers big and small... Recon vis fans... 71 degree thermostat..... Core changes for main rad... Coolant questions.... The butler did it.... The earth really is flat...number 42.. And in the end after they nail him to a cross he goes to heaven.

It is interesting, but the answer is THERE IS NO ANSWER..... A bit like watching a good art movie.

What it does seem to prove is that all our trucks are individual..some get hot and others don't.... THE END.
                        .... Which was nice.

                          Ta!
You've just saved a small part of my life, to which I'm grateful.

Looks like I'lll start with the ATF cooler and take it from there...

Well, today I bought myself a Hayden 768 transmission cooler, from O,Reilly Autoparts, Pinhook Road Lafayette, for $57. Im planning on bypassing the in rad cooler completely. I,ve already got a Mocal oil stat lying around somewhere, just to prevent any overcooling, although I did read somewhwere that even in cold climates , overcooling is not something to worry about with ATF. I already have a temp gauge for the ATF mounted in the cabin, beside my water temp gauge, and all the wiring for it already run into the engine bay. I think I,ll be putting the temp sender after the cooler. This set up will hopefully not only cool the ATF, but will negate the risk of an ATF in rad cooler failure allowing water into the auto box. It will also keep some heat out of the engine cooling system. Every little helps.
Of course, where I bought the cooler is totally irrelevant, but I just threw that in to create the impression that I was some kind of international jet setter , like Apache and Slobodan. smug2:

I'm in the same postion at the moment, about to fit an external tranny cooler and bypass the rad.
Does anyone know what spec the oil cooler needs to be. Is there a set size eg 16 row or does anyone know how many btu's the cooler need to disepate? I dont tow but use fully loaded when going away on holiday. ge and
Also does anyone know of a temp gauge and sensor kit to monitor the tranny oil?
