  • Turbo Trouble

Hi Guys. My turbo has gone. Now I know that this thread is in the wrong place, I have also placed one in the Parts wanted. But has anyone got a turbo for a 2.4 sitting around looking for a new home, or has anyone got an idea where I can lay my hands on one p.d.q. Surf is my daily driver and without it I cant get to work.

    Cheers Spoggle

Hi Guys, had a look at the turbo up at the garage. When the intake pipe was off I could see that some of the blades were damaged and there was a fair bit of play on the shaft. Fairly big bit of the intake pipe was missing from where it attaches to the turbo. Garage guy thinks that this is what may have caused the damage. Well as every one on here knows I aint no mechanic, but it looked goosed to me. Managed to located a used turbo of a breaker on Flea bay and it should be with me Saturday or Monday. Also ordered new intake pipes from Rough Trax as well as a filter set. So after spending a bit more of the kids inheritence, or loosing another arm and half a leg, with a bit of luck that the new turbo is O.K I should be mobile again early next week. Realy do think that I'm gonna have to look at buying another much smaller car for day to day use and keep the truck for weekend play and dragging the caravan. Spent well over a grand on repairs so far this year without the fuel costs of about 70 quid a week and Im gonna need two new tyres befor the snow arrives, and as a public sector worker I aint had a pay rise for over 2 years now. But thats another rant.Oh yes and thanks for the advice guys.
