  • Running on

Anyone know what might be causing a diesel to run on after you take out the ignition key. My daughter has an 1800cc diesel Ford Fiesta that's just started doing this. The only way she can stop the engine is to stall the car; not good for the clutch or engine.

If might be a badly coked up head or more likely a problem with the fuel control thingy. Anyone ever had this happen on their diesel motors? Any ideas / suggestions?

Deisels normally have a electric fuel cut off solonid somewhere on the pump. Not sure where it would be on a Festa though.

Common fault on Ford diesel . Fuel shut off is obvious to see on the top of the pump . Seal leaks and lets fuel into pump .

Probably cheaper to buy another Ford than fix the pump
