The folk over the road from us have turned their front garden into a 4 car driveway, they have 3 cars and have official permission for the drive and the kerb has been properly lowered. But, they don't use the drive. They park their cars outside other folks houses.

So we (the other folks) complained to them, the police and the council (in that order), the gist of the replies is:

-They pay road tax, they can park where they want, so long as it's not causing an obstruction.
-There is no obligation for them to park in their driveway.
-We cannot park in front of their driveway as WE would be causing an obstruction.

snap, we dont have a drive but our neighbour who does, parks her car on the road, if I get back home from work late and the street is full I'm tempted just to pull on her drive but think I might get done for trespass.

The TW@T over the road from me does the same thing which makes it difficult for me to get the van/truck on my drive. I prey for the day when someone comes round the corner & runs into the back of his shitty micra.

He probably does it on purpose because you said that anyone with a fuel filler on the nearside of their vehicle is very ghey.

Report it to the planning office, with support of a residents committee (not a petition) and photos, that the driveway is not being used under which the planning was granted.

Sadly all true, you can't force them to use it. Praps they just didn't want to do any gardening.

I have a drive, a two car drive I park on it. I let neighbours park on it when they ask (visiting relatives etc) I don't get people like that at all.

I'll bet money they told their insurance company their cars are parked on a drive overnight though... might be a card to play when talking to them?

I'd love a driveway, the number of times our cars have been bumped by the imbeciles attempting to maneuver into a space twice the length of their car is nuts. Getting the cars of the road out of the way would be fantastic.

Maybe a few dents and scratches would encourage them to park on their drive?
