      Just found the dremel with a polishing pad at full tilt 'polishes' the paint off nicely. Will go buy a bench grinder and a polishing pad!

        Front triangle complete and fitted to forks.

        Next job is to strip the swing arm and paint in gloss black (probably). Unfortunately it's steel so will need paint.

        I did buy a CF swing arm from a later model which looks stunning, but the attachment points are different and would result in the wheelbase of the bike being about 4" longer than it should be. Ah well.

            Need an anodiser (by post if necessary) who'd do small quantities of bits now for some of the smaller parts such as crank spider, brake levers etc.

                That's a lovely job!

                Mine is altogether brasher, having now taken on 'period' 3DV purple bars etc. Just requires one last push polishing up full XC Pro gearing, the swing-arm painting and the whole lot assembling.
