Being a bit of a novice in comparison to your work I was wondering how you're attached the roof spars to that top piece? Are they screwed or something a bit more sophisticated?
If you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

Yes, they're screwed. You would use metal plates on a house roof though, but they would have been visible on my build so decided against them. The birdsmouth cut and the sarking would stop the rafter from moving, even without the screws.

Made up 6x 6x2 foot "liteglaze" windows from 3"x2" with a rebate. I then used the off cut of rebate as the bead. Glass is 3mm as is the saw blade. Bonus!
Roof boarded and the extension rafters in place from the existing roof
It's that time of the build where nothing appears to change! Roof sarking complete, Covered in breathable felt. Cut all the rafters and added soffit returns to the main beams, nailed on facia boards ready to accept the finished uPVC and guttering.
Completed roof timbers
And today's lathing and tiling, continuing the existing roof lines and the new one.
Need to finish this side then duplicate on the other...

I'm envious What a cracking job. Looks proportionally spot on...which is important.
Did you have to #### about with building or planning regs?
Thanks. I've kept the same angle on the new roof as those on the two existing roofs, just! but it meant going a little higher up the house than I had planned, but it works and looks right. Bear in mind the roof is as big as the original house roof!
No planning regs as under 4m ridge, more than 2m from boundary etc... and ultimately it is not an extension, however, I have built it to conform with regs if I ever decide to fill it in and make it an extra room - and then it should be straight forward...

Summer hols out the way, time to get this project done...
The liteglaze didn't like that hot sun we had. it buckled and stayed buckled
So out it came and replaced with toughened glass. Much better.
Wired for sound and lights with a 4 kw infra red heater bought, ready to be installed.
18mm wbp ply as soffits housing 6x4w gu10's. while I was there I put qnother 3 onto the house soffits as well. plugged in to a dusk till dawn sensor, I've got security.lighting and 'ambience'!
Another lighting circuitmto the pillars, which I bricked.up today from reclaims found buried in the garden!
Roof tiled and nearly water tight.
Slabs bought and moved. 80 sq m, one at a time takes a while!
Anyway, here's some pics...
