I prefer to disconnect the negative terminal....just out of habit.
Cant modern cars electrics be damaged by voltage spikes if you leave the battery connected while mains charging though?Comment

In theory you should disconnect the battery, some modern cars are fussy and all kinds of things happen due to the fluctuation of current the charger puts out, lights flash, wipers go etc etc.Originally posted by caney View Post

Surely any mains borne transient is on the input to the charger, not the output?
