I was chatting to my MOT dude today, he has to buy a box of trickery to test the electrics. According to him, it's a future thing; not a past event.

Probably the same electrics tester they use at caravan service centres.

A box with a set of trailer lights is plugged into the towbar sockets to check all the lights are working properly.

But, being government approved, it'll cost 10 times as much.

Apparently it'll test the auxiliary circuits too.

It would appear not. Unless you take the socket off, if it's not there, they cant test it

Though it is probably worth wiring a socket up at some point - will have to look for a how-to somewhere.
