Wouldn't it be called a SURFLEX?......................Of course, you could call it anything that you liked,........Because it would never be able to catch you................
Hey, Henry. Just spotted the perfect project for you. It combines your original plan to do a restoration, with the early model Porsche that you seem to be drawn to. I know that your good lady wanted an open top, but this is a compromise, because there are a few ventilation holes.....................http://www.autoblog.com/2008/05/28/l...y-porsche-356/.......................

Strange things are afoot at chez Flounderbout.
I gently raised the question of a Speedster replica build the other day. This seemed to go well (mention-of-Kelly-McGillis aided). A picture helped.
However, she then inevitably raised the question of price. In a moment of astonishing foolishness, I threw caution to the wind and actually told her something approaching a realistic price for the project (emphasis perhaps on the word "approaching").
It was at this stage that things get very odd indeed. No icy stare. No raised eyebrow. No spat-out coffee. Not even a bout of dangerous laughter.
Instead she said, and I quote: "What colour do you think would be best?".
Something is clearly afoot... But you know what they say about gift horses and all that...
I don't think I could look past a V8 Cobra replica personally, although the Stratos kits are fantastic, its not the same as cruising around with no roof on a hot summers day.

That would be my first choice too. But Jessie thinks they are too noisy.
Plus she would definitely kill herself in one - she drives like lightning.
Got away with the Lexurf - going to have to be at bit more understated for this one. Though actually for summer roof-down pottering, a Cobra-style V8 thunder may not be all it's cracked up to be. Great when playing on your own, but conversation is pretty much out in those beasts, and I do quite like the idea of pootling off to the pub an hour or so away without coming home single and a nervous wreck...
