£20 a day from a hire shop...
Cut all your wood to log length, and then just hire one for the day...

Hatchets are for splittling kindling wood and scaring girls with. You want an axe. a proper axe. Also you will need to know how to use it. you do not need mauls or wood grenades or crappy electric log splitters. Get on with the job, it will make a man of yer..it's in me shed, mate.

But every year I look at that 8 cu metres of wood and think...
one of them log splitters would be easier.
