I don't know Toyota diffs, but if yours is a 4.88 then going to a 5.29 will make a difference, You have to regear so that the revs go back to near standard even though you have bigger tyres.

Regearing is the way to go. You could also look at cheap tuning options such as water injection <- this is supposed to help with power and economy.
      Oh Nana, what's my name?

Just thought, if you're considering tuning options a mate of mine who does LPG conversions reckoned he could do a propane injection system for an LN130 diesel for about £1500. You'd need to add labour costs to that if you weren't tuning it yourself or you don't have a mate in the business!

The advantages to LPG injection can be improved fuel economy (if you take it easy on the accelerator) and increased power (if you floor it a bit more) but remember you're using LPG as well as diesel so it really does depend on how leaden footed you are as to the results you're most likely to get.

I decided that it probably wasn't worth doing cos it's a lot of money for a gamble. If I was starting to spend that sort of money I'd save up a wee bit more and look for an LS400 and some magic from Mr Bushwhacker!

The 'propane for diesel' thing never really caught on, did it?

I don't know the make, it was on the truck when I got it. It did have the bits that came out the side and looped round the head lights, but these have been cut off.

Ta, wouldn't trust it to push anything giving too much resistance like another truck though, still it's somewhere to mount the lights.
