  • Off Road Cherry

Just been "green laning" in the wilds of wiltshire ,what a blast !!most impressed.Snuck it into 4WD just to make sure that it would change over but all in all over 10 miles down in 2WD.
TBH there was some bits where I was thinking "OMG what have I done, where the f%^k can I turn round and go back" but just picked what I thought would be the easiest path and plodded through.

It was the first time that I had been "off road " in the truck. And looking back at some of the tracks I made it through I am very pleased.I think that says more about the truck than me but I so can not wait to get out there again.

Congratulations, you'll be wanting to keep it dirty from now on!

p.s. You broke the first off-roading rule though.

    1. NEVER GO OFF ROAD ALONE!

Yes I was thinking that IF I get stuck here I am totally fubarred but the route started off no worse than the yard that my local kebab van parks up in so I carried on thinking this is easy perhaps too easy when the nice wide gravelled byway descended to a very narrow very deeply rutted path.

So I will need to think next time perhaps that a was a little rash
I will have to venture out with some more experienced people .

BUT WHAT A BLAST, it definitely blew away the cobwebs,I think the last time my heart was pounding that much was...well not wanting to incriminate myself, well I can't remember but the Builth Wells road on my old NS400 came close!!!

It gets addictive lol, I was a "Shiny" when I first bought mine but now I`ve been offroad a few times I have completely given up cleaning it.

The mud hides the scratches and cracked wheel arches I picked up last weekend anyways

Keep a eye on the daemon side for further information.

BTW which byway did you explore

I know some of the posts on the forum are random.Had to Google Pashtun Dawn ...then all became clear I guess that they (M.O.D) don't take kindly to seeing civvies appearing in their gunsights on Salisbury Plain.

The Byway that I was on was the stretch from Barbury Castle towards to the A4 Near the Kennet Long Barrow.
The first stretch was very civilised like I said the road is rougher towards my local kebab van ,the next bit towards Hackpen Hilll? ok but the last part was when I was thinking that I should not be doing this.

Definitely need to follow someone who knows what they are up to.

well it wasn't quite as muddy as that !!!! the deepest puddle I went through must have been at least up to my wheel rims!
