  • WARNING: be cautious

right chaps been a while but i have got rid my lux and replaced it with a galant vr4 here is the add on ebay from the garage i part exed with.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-HIL...tem5199df9bfd6

if anybody wants to no anyting ref this truck then please let me know i can tell the previous history of the vehicle for the past 6 years, do not believe the add the tyres have been on the vehicle for at least 2 years, and the fuel pump seals are shot, the interior fan also does not work due to resistor packing in, and the rear window has siezed. there are a couple of other things. like i said if you want to know anything ref this truck then please please get in touch with me.

right the reason im posting this is beacuse the person who is in the add is a bloke called ben, nice as pie to your face but a complete shit behind your back. he will give you a 3mth warranty that means bugger all, and as of last week he tells me he has ceased trading, bollox. the car he sold me the galant has spent more time off road in the garage getting fixed than being driven. he also sold me a lemon due to the fact he knew every problem on the car prior to sale as the 1st uk owner only had it 3mths and took it back due to the faults, he then re sold it to me with said faults but didnt make me aware, as we speak my car is back in scunthorpe getting diagnosed with a boost fault, steering rack arm and wheel bearing issue, and the auto gearbox getting looked at for a leak that it has on it, also the rear coilover shockers are siezed on the hardest setting, ive had nothing but grief and trouble with this company and the car i baught for £4200. so if your interested in the lux then i can pre arm you and you could get a cracking bus knowing what faults are on the vehicle, but there is a very extensive receipt pack from everything i spent on it in the last 6 years, the car is solid and just about everything has been changed ie new cylinder head was put on it 4-5mths ago etc, also if you look up my username on here you will find out most of my truck and what its had done, needs doing etc. my email is craigkerr68@hotmail.co.uk my mon number is 07816846977. again be very CAUTIOUS of this seller and dont go without knowing the previous history so you can get one over on him. thanks craig.

Very interesting ,sounds like you should probably be making a phone call to your local trading standards office ,if the galant is as bad as you say ,you should be looking for either some compensation or your money/part exchange back.
I am sure someone with more legal expertise will be along soon.

With regards to your surf I pity the unknowing fool who will be caught .

Cant you just drop eBay an email and let them know that he's habitually mis-describing goods?

I seem to remember they have policies regarding that. Might get him binned.

His feedback shows 100% despite there being one negative on it?

Thanks for the advice chaps, however this issue is I'n the hands of trading standards and solicitors to get this rectified. The car is still I'n the garage and I can't get hold of anybody let alone that ben. the eBay thing like I said e+I are very nice to deal with it's once they have your money and you need things sorting/fixing that's when the issues arise. Plus on my car I gave proof he knew the faults before selling it to me so like I said be cautious when dealing with them.

                    UPDATE:

well the steering problem has been fixed as i originaly thought they have replaced the track rod end leaving the gaiter split and a dry joint from what i can gather of the phone, ben has admited that there is a boost issue on the car but can not find it so offered £100 for me to go away basicly and make it my problem instead of his which i refused to take, we then had a rather intereresting heated conversation with him saying take me to court, so i said ok i ll take you to court. so after having the car nearly a week im still no further forward with the poxy thing.

At this point chaps im fuming and lost all interest the vr4 now, ill take it to trading standards, ill get in touch with my solicitor and go from there. to say the least i am so utterly disheartned now seeing the potential probs and cost of the galant when fixing someone elses dishonesty. so ill keep you all informed once i get responses from trading standards etc so if anybody has any points of reference or issues with ebony and ivory then please pm me and give me your details then ill pass them on to trading standards.

Have you had all the problems sorted now. Just wondering as you sent me a message on swapz for my truck and there's no mention of all the problems in your advert for it.

sorry animal, no the probs are not fixed yet, i didnt actualy mean to message you on swapz so my appologies for that. i clicked interest instead of the red cross to close the page i was just browsing to see if there was any decent surfs available im sure my ad says aswell just gauging interest and im in no rush to get rid of the cari.

well the problems with the car are a boost leak, slight leak on the gearbox the wobble has been fixed but will confirm that friday when i pick the car up, ive also sourced 2 reconed turbos aswell so ill get them fitted, then ill source the leak and rectify that aswell i need transport for work so ill fix the car, and then try claim back the cost of the work ill get done by a vr4 garage down silverstone so it should be running sweet by next week. then my misssion is to bring ebony and ivory down a peg or too.

I doubt he will Vince, I've got a friend going to look at it tomoz and going to rip it apart with the faults on it to try buy it back for pennies. Going to be interesting picking the gallant up aswell he is either nit going to be there, or he will be with a load of meat heads incase I knock his teeth out, thing is I don't need to punch him as he has dug his own grave anyway.

From tomoz the gallant is going to get an independent engineers report done, I've got the thread on vr4 forum of proof that he knew the faults were there, the previous owner is doing a statement so that's all getting sent to him, trading standards, and solicitors.

Then I'm going to write up a non slanderous review of ebony n ivory ltd and send that to all the local area papers, I've put the same thread up on vr4 forum and the lads are putting it up on other forums aswell to get the msg out.

The thing is he burnt his bridges with the jap market so shut down e+I jap specialists and is now German specialists going for Audi,BMW,mercs etc so hopefully there forums will be warned aswell.

Out of curiosity Vince what did you ask him?

                              Excellent!

                              This is what I asked......
Hi, can you tell me if everything electrical works on this vehicle? I have heard that the rear electric windows can be troublesome for example.
Also, any leaks from the engine at all?
                              Thanks.
