  • MP3 help please

I have just purchased an alpine CDA-9830R for my surf. It does MP3 playback and supports playlists, however.

Does anyone know how to create an MP3 cd WITH playlists?

    Thanks

    Alun.

I think that you can do it with Realplayer.

    Cheers

Another option is iTunes from the makers of quicktime.

i have a pioneer one that plays WMA files too. i just burn the tracks to a cd with nero making sure each album is in a folder and that works for me just fine. if you create disks that are just one folder deep it tends to make life much easier.

        * that unit supports WMA's too (windows media audio) just use microsoft media player to rip from cd. much smaller and not quite as good quality but not something you'd really notice unless you're really cranking it.

disagreement... best to put each album in a separate folder so they can be easily found instead of having to scroll through 200 tracks, you just select the album then the track.... make sure you label them though!... dunno about playlists!

If you're using Windows Media Player (version 9) then you can use the 'Copy to CD or Device' option from the left-hand menu.

Drag the tracks you want over from your Music Library (i.e. from the left window to the right window), to build the order of tracks you want.

Above the right-hand window is an icon that looks like a page with a letter 'i' on it. Click this, then choose the 'Data CD' tab. Make sure that the 'Write Playlists to CD as M3U' option is checked.

Then proceed with burning the CD from Windows Media Player and the playlist should be included on the CD.

Each to their own as regards playlists vs. album folders. Personally I prefer to sequence a series of inidivual tracks, rather than play full album after full album.

                      Thanks everyone!!

                      Tried iTunes, didnt like it

Tried the media player thing, worked ok.

Think what Ill do in future is just make folders of playlists rather than albums.

nero will happily burn mps to disc. you can convert music on your pc to mp3 format by using dBpowerAMP Music Converter and you can copy music from your hi fi to pc by using LP Recorder.

of course, i urge you to purchase these programmes and not get them free from kazaa
