I bought an after market one from Milners and it was okay. Make sure you paint the inside with Hammerite, or something similar, before you fit it.

when you say ok was it worth buying and did it fit and look as good as the original ones? did you find it easy to fit the lower valance to it?

ive had the rough trax one on for around 2 years - fitted ok and still has a good finish.

the chromes not as good as a factory one but at the price they are pretty good
        value.

I had mine on for nearly 3 years and it was just starting to show some very minor pitting. The bumper isn't as study as an original but fitting it to the valance and then to the truck was no problem.

When I bought it second hand chrome bumpers were like hens teeth to find, and if you could find one they were expensive. If I needed another one now I think I'd go for a good condition second hand one as there seem to be more available at a reasonable price.

I must be missing something here. when you read my thread "looking Good" and the problems I had fitting mine. I certainly cannot say 'fitted ok'.
Is there much of a difference compared to my 3.0L '93 model and your '94.
            (I think not)

yeah the only problem with buying a bumper and getting it sent to you is you dont know if its solid enough, it may look ok but be about to go bad lol.

apart from drilling the holes which is easy enough was your problems not down to other issues not the actual new bumpers fault?

Did you talk to Roughtrax to try & resolve the issue? Might have been a one off/bad batch or something.

Also, if they get told that they're selling stuff that isn't as good as the stuff they usually sell I would expect them to sort out using a different supplier to avoid damaging their reputation.

yeah. I can live with rusty nuts, rounded nuts and nuts that shear off. It's when you get home and find the part you just bought isin't quite what you expected.
I got mine from milner offroad, which i personally went down in my car to collect. i said what model car and he even saw the car. I did ring the shop who then said that is the only style they have in.

Sounds like they sell a 'one size fits all' pattern bumper then.

You get what you pay for with Milners, they seem to sell mostly 'get you through the MOT' quality parts, not OEM spec quality.

Can you not just drill the missing holes? Thats the ony difference.

I wouldn't want to have to hold twice as many expensive parts in stock just for the sake of two easily drilled holes.
